Retired as the Fire Chief of the Great
Falls International Airport and Montana
Air National Guard in July 2013. In 2001 I was sent to the Middle
east to establish Fire Protection for Masirah AFB and later
appointed as Theater Fire Chief in charge of all fire Protection operations for
the entire war effort. After retirement I worked for the Air Force Research
Laboratory in Panama City ,
Fl. Developing new fire apparatus for the war effort.
We are still living on our small place west of Great Falls along the Sun River .
We are enjoying lots of travel and moving from family to family spoiling grand
kids. We enjoy camping, fishing and hunting ( at least one of us does). We are
working on our still growing bucket lists just returning from Alaska this spring and floating the entire
Grand Canyon 2011.
My hobbies include: chasing grad kids sporting event and
school programs, photography, hunting, fishing, exploring the wildernesses of Montana and Glacier

of Michael Louis Gilligan
A brief autobiography
I was born in Great Falls on December 1, 1944 and, within a
year, the family moved to Havre for about 10 years. I attended St. Jude’s
School and, word has it, I was an exemplary altar boy. We moved back to Great
Falls in 1955 and I started 5th grade at St. Gerard’s and on to
Great Falls Central.
After graduation in 1963, I attended Carroll College in
Helena and graduated in 1967 with a degree in Accounting and a new draft
classification of 1-A. For whatever reason, the IRS from San Francisco was
recruiting at Carroll for tax auditors and, while that was not an exempt
position, I was allowed to go to San Francisco for their 3-month training
school. With the draft looming, I had a great time in S.F. but the learning
curve probably suffered. Sure enough, I got the call from The Board to report
to Butte for the final physical and, after some travel around the country, I
reported as ordered, only to fail the physical.
Back in San Francisco, I worked as a senior tax auditor for
2 years and, considering the adversarial position I was always bound to take, I
started to look for something on the side of the “good guys”. I was auditing
the corporate client of an Oakland C.P.A. firm and, when the audit was
concluded, the managing partner offered me a job and I readily accepted. I soon
passed the C.P.A. exam and concluded the experience requirement to become a
California C.P.A. Soon thereafter, after several years of “after-hours”
schooling, I received an M.B.A. in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San
Francisco. In 1982, I was admitted to a partnership in the firm.
While my professional life was starting up, I met Bettina
(Tina) Lyon on a blind date in San Francisco. Tina was from New Jersey and had
decided to stay put in California after hop-scotching the country in a VW
camper. We were married in 1974 in S.F. and, while we loved living in the City,
moved to the more family-oriented town of Alameda in the East Bay. We had three
lovely girls who are now three lovely young women. Sara is 37 and an organic
farmer and landscaper, Kate is 34 and is a marine biologist and Lauren is 29
and also a marine biologist. After scattering far & wide, they are all now
back in California within several hours drive.
In November of 1989, after one last earthquake in the Bay
Area (the big one), I got an opportunity to take over the Sacramento office of
our firm, which had now grown to five offices, including Oakland & San
Francisco. We decided to take the plunge and move from a 75 degree climate to
one of 95 but, like Montana, devoid of high humidity. My career had
concentrated on state & Federal taxation, estate & business planning
and related areas and this was a new market. We got used to the heat, the girls
flourished and Tina found a new profession (faux painting & decorating).
After 43 years with the same firm, I retired on December 31,
2012 to take on more leisurely undertakings. I have been involved with Rotary
International for years and am currently club treasurer for the Rotary Club of
Sacramento, one of the largest in the world. My other charitable endeavor is
The First Tee of Greater Sacramento, a youth development organization which
teaches kids life skills & core values using the game of golf.
With retirement, I am able to pursue my passion for fly
fishing, which I learned from my Grandpa, starting at age 10 when we moved back
to Great Falls. I have been to great trout streams all over the West but, of
course, the best is still in Montana. My wife and I also play golf often and
hike, kayak, cycle and travel, having been to many great spots in the U.S.,
Caribbean and Europe. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Class of ‘63’s
50th.

Born April 1945 in Great Falls, Mt, went to St Mary's school then to Central. In '63 I joined the USNR and went to drills at the reserve center near the air port. Since it was an "electronics installation" I ended up a Radioman. Did training in San Diego, Seattle, Norfolk VA. amd even 3 days in Hawaii. Spent over 2 years on the USS Valley Forge. It was an old aircraft carrier that once carried planes with the folding wings. In my time it was a transport for the Marines and their helicopters deploying to "West Pac" i.e. Viet Nam. I especially enjoyed my time spent in the Philippines.
After leaving the active Navy, I enrolled in Maryknoll Seminary in the fall and spent two years there. While I enjoyed it, I soon realized that it wouldn't work for me. So, back to Great Falls, and working for my dad in construction, and for Intermountain Tile and Marble while, at the same time attending the College of Great Falls. There I graduated with a BA in accounting (1973). While at CGF, I met and married Susie Schumacher, and she ribs me about the fact that I brought my accounting books on our honey moon on Flat Head Lake. A few years later, she received an excellent job offer in Regina Saskatchewask but her parents were elderly, and we were the last of her family in Great Falls, so we stayed. I took over my dads business until she retired from teaching and I turned the business over to my oldest son. We have 3 sons, Phil (Joliet) Joe (Ft Benton), and Greg (Nashville).
A few years later we went to Nashville "for 2 months" to help Greg with his goals, music and performance horse work. That lasted 7 years when we finally bought a house in Joliet, and moved in about 2 years ago. We wanted to be back in Montana and near our grand children. We are keeping busy, but our schedule is more by the calendar than the clock.

Lois Wlaznak Robins
In the fall after graduation, I went to Spokane, Washington
to attend Sacred Heart School of Nursing.
I graduated in 1966 and continued working at the hospital in
Spokane. I met my husband, Gordon, later
that fall and we were married in 1967.
In 1968, our first daughter, Diane, was born, and I continued working
part time until our daughter, Janet, was born in 1970. I was still on maternity leave when we moved
to Boise, ID in 1971. I had the pleasure
of staying home and being a full mother for 10 years, before returning to work
in a medical setting. In May of 1981, I
found my passion in nursing working with adolescent patients in both
residential and acute psychiatric care.
I have enjoyed several cruises to Mexico, the Caribbean,
Alaska and the Eastern Coastline. I have also traveled with my daughter Diane,
to Germany and Italy.
I enjoy living very close to my daughter Janet, her husband
DJ, and my two wonderful grandchildren, Payton and Nate.
I retired in April of this year and look forward to going to
the Bahamas in September. I am also
enjoying golfing, traveling and relaxing.

College of Great Falls for two years then attended the University of
Maryland while living in Fairfax, VA. No Degree. I worked at NASA in Maryland until
marriage. We moved to Great Falls in 1967
after getting married and I worked as Assistant Director for McAuley Nursing
Home. Moved to Helena and worked for two
internists and a pediatrician. In 1971,
we moved back to Chantilly, VA and managed a dental office for four years. In 1975, we moved to Havre, MT and managed
our motel and trailer court. In 1978, we
moved to Pullman, WA, and I taught computers and Human Resource subjects at
Washington State University (WSU) for 19 years.
In 1997, I became Director of Valley Business in Lewiston, Idaho (still
living in Pullman). I moved to the
Seattle area to be near children and grandchildren in 2002 and became
Department Chair of Medical Office Assistant at Bryman College. In 2006, I became the Department Chair of
Medical Office Specialist for Kaplan College in Renton, WA. I retired in November, 2012.
I also volunteered for Havre Jayceens.
In Pullman, I was a board member for two day care centers, the advocate
for children’s needs in Pullman, board
member for Pullman United Way, and chair for the State Fund Drive at WSU. I was
a board member and then President for 6 years of the Inland Empire Girl Scout
Council in Spokane, and became a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of the USA. I
was a national operational volunteer for GSUSA for five years. I was chair of the Lewiston Chamber of
Commerce Ambassadors and board member.
Last summer God sent an old friend who turned out to be the most
wonderful man to me and we started talking.
Gary actually lived 300 miles from me so we knew God had to have arranged
it. Gary and I were married March 30,
2013 in a beautiful ceremony in Seattle with all my children and grandchildren
and all of my brothers and my sister attending.
